Preparing and including the right products in your toiletry bag can seem daunting, but with this quick checklist you won't forget the important things!
It’s easy to head out to Target the night before a big trip, and grab a pre-made toiletry bag. I mean, they’re packed with basic shampoo and conditioner, a toothbrush, etc. Why bother taking the time to select specific products for a trip? Though they may seem unimportant, the toiletries you choose will be used every single day of your trip. They don’t have to be heavy, top-of-the-line name brand, or even expensive.
There have been plenty of times I have been stuck on long trips without my toiletry essentials. The worst solution to this problem is having to buy the normal sized product just for a single use.
Therefore, I always make sure to pack these products for a smooth and enjoyable trip-because,well, it’s always the little things that can make or break a great time.
1. Shea Moisture Virgin Coconut Oil Daily Hydration Overnight Face Oil
I have very dry skin, so it’s pretty important that I keep up with my moisturizing routine every night. Otherwise, I’d be able to strike a match on my face in the morning. This hydration oil is small and lightweight, which makes it the perfect travel essential.
I also use it in combination with
2. Ponds Dry Skin Cream
3. Equate Non-Aluminum Deodorant
It’s always important to ensure that you have deodorant wherever you go. However, some studies show that aluminum in deodorant might be the cause of breast cancer. That information was enough to get me to switch to an aluminium free deodorant. I prefer the Wild Rose scent!
4. Tide To-Go Sticks
If you’re anywhere near as messy as I am, then this one needs no explaining.
5. Love Beauty Planet Body Wash
I love brands that stand for something, so it’s no surprise that Love Beauty Planet made the cut. Their travel size body washes smell amazing, leave the skin feeling great, and are made with 100% coconut oil.
6. 1,000mg Emergen-C Super Orange
It might seem strange to keep packets of vitamin c in your toiletries, but trust me, it can be a lifesaver. There’s nothing worse than going on a big vacation, just to get sick and spend the rest of the trip inside resting. I always carry vitamin c for when I start to feel just a little under the weather.
7. Bobby Pins
With natural hair, I never forget to grab a bunch of bobby pins for my insistent flyaways.
8. Downy Wrinkle Release
9. Coppertone Glow Sunscreen
It is always important to wear sunscreen, sunny destination or not. Depending on skin tone, sunscreen can make you look very drowned out. That’s why I use a glow sunscreen. The ingredients help my skin shine every time I step out into the sun.
10. Ralph Lauren Woman Roll on Perfume
When traveling it’s always important to treat yourself. I love this roll on perfume, not only because it smells wonderful, but because it’s compact and easy to carry around. But, mostly because it smells really great.
Of course, there are other, obvious, essentials to include. So don’t forget your toothbrush, toothpaste, razors, medications, feminine hygiene products, shampoo, and conditioner.
Here’s a comprehensive list for a quick packing session
Don’t forget the liquid allowance for carry on items! Follow the 3-1-1 rule: 3.4 ounce maximum container, place items in 1 toiletry bag, and put items in 1 large plastic bag to prevent spills and leaks.
